Theron, a scholar more at home among star charts than courtly intrigues, loved his sons dearly. But Queen Isolde harbored a dark envy for the princes, their laughter grating on her ambition. One evening, while Theron mapped a newly discovered constellation of Sorrow, Isolde beckoned the princes into the forest, promising them a grand adventure.

"A test of bravery," she hissed, her voice like the rustle of dry leaves, "to find the legendary Goldflower deep within the Whisperwood." Little did they know, the quest was a lie, a trap woven from spite. As soon as they entered the heart of the woods, she ripped a golden amulet from her neck and chanted a curse, twisting the boys into white swans.

Elara, witnessing the horror from a distance, fled back to the observatory. "What have you done?" she cried, tears streaming down her face. "They will return to human form if a woman in love knits them shirts of star-flowers!" Isolde sneered. "But she must do it in silence for six years! A small price for beauty, power, and control, wouldn't you say?"

Elara began her task, gathering star-flowers, rare blooms that only grew on the highest mountain peaks. Each flower shimmered with celestial light, its petals whispering forgotten stories. She spun the petals into yarn, each thread woven with love and sorrow. But temptation lurked. A prince offered her a lifetime supply of gold for just a few words spoken.

She remembered what Mark Twain once said, "It's easier to stay out than get out." She resisted his temptation, a drop of sweat trickling down her face, and shook her head, continuing to work. The task was agonizing, her fingers raw, her heart heavy. Villagers whispered about the strange girl who never spoke, a hermit haunted by grief.

Elara felt a pang of longing, but remembered her brothers. "I swear, if you speak even one word, they will be doomed," a voice echoed in her mind. She turned away, clutching her unfinished swans' shirts.

Years passed. Elara continued to knit, her silence a shield against despair. She married the king, but Isolde, disguised as an old crone, poisoned the king's mind with lies. She claimed that Elara was a witch, weaving dark spells into her strange garments. One day as she fled the stake a voice broke, "Brothers wait!"

The truth unfurled like a starlit banner. Queen Isolde's dark deeds were revealed, and her power crumbled into dust. The curse was broken, and love had triumphed over envy. Theron returned to his sons, weeping, "As Einstein said, only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile." And though one brother bore a reminder of their ordeal, their bond, forged in silence and sacrifice, would never be broken. For even that reminder spoke of love and resilience.
