Leon raced through the giant's overgrown eyebrow-forest, nearly tripping over a gnarled root. "Vera, hurry up!" he shouted, his voice echoing slightly in the perpetual mist. She responded, "Patience, Leon! Even villages built on sleeping giants have their slow days!"

Back at home, while mending a tear in his tunic, Leon asked, "Why do the giant guards always wear those bulky leather outfits?" His dad, Min, looked up from sharpening a hunting spear. "Protection, Leon. But long ago, before we knew how to tan giant-hide properly, warriors used layers of linen or even bronze plates. It was heavy and not very effective."

"Imagine fighting with all that weight," Leon murmured, his eyes widening. He grabbed his worn leather notebook and rushed to his bookshelf, the floorboards creaking with each step. "Time to consult the Encyclopedia," he exclaimed, pulling out the glowing book. The room shimmered, the familiar swirl of light engulfing him.

Leon gasped, finding himself in a bustling ancient Roman street. Soldiers marched past, clad in bronze armor. He hurried over to a centurion, tugging on his tunic. "Excuse me, sir," Leon said, "How do you even move in that thing?" The Centurion chuckled, "It's not comfortable, boy, but it can save your life!"

A blacksmith, sweat dripping from his brow, hammered at a piece of metal. The centurion gestured, "They're always working to make it lighter, stronger... better! But it's been centuries since we started with simple leather and bronze. You see this musculata? Shaped to mimic the human form, distributing blows away from critical organs!"

Suddenly, a medieval battlefield appeared! Knights clashed, their metal armor gleaming in the sun. One knight fell, his helmet dented. Leon ran towards him, fearlessly dodging charging horses. "Are you alright, sir?" he asked. The knight groaned, "This plate is heavy, but better than nothing!"

He spotted another knight removing his helmet. "Sir," Leon said, "why do you wear so much metal? It looks exhausting!" The knight sighed, wiping sweat from his face. "'The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving,' as General Grant said. This armor lets me do that better than anyone without it!"

Then, a modern laboratory materialized! A scientist in a white coat held up a vest. "This is Kevlar," she explained, "five times stronger than steel!" Leon touched the vest. "Amazing!" The scientist smiled. "Today, materials like this protect soldiers and even police officers worldwide. The global body armor market is currently valued at over 4.5 billion!"

Back in his room, Leon closed the Encyclopedia. He remembered something the Centurion had said about continual innovation. "So, even today, people are still working to make armor lighter and stronger!" he exclaimed. He ran downstairs, notebook in hand.

He burst into the living room. "Dad!" he announced, "Did you know that even the guards' giant-hide armor is part of a long history? It all started with simple leather! Maybe someday, we'll create giant-hide that's as strong as metal." Min grinned. "Perhaps, Leon. Perseverance is key— like that blacksmith kept hammering!"
