Daria watched snowflakes swirl outside her window, tiny white specks against the glass. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Moana asked, pointing to the miniature village nestled within the snow globe. Daria sighed, "But it's always cold here, Moana. I wish we could find a way to warm up our kingdom."

"Why can't we use something natural?" Daria wondered aloud, reaching for her worn leather notebook. "Like the Earth's own heat!" Milena, who was sewing nearby, smiled. "Now who ever heard of that? What would that even look like?" Daria raced to her bookshelf. "My Invention Encyclopedia will know!"

As Daria opened the ancient book, a swirl of light engulfed her room. Milena gasped, "What's happening?" The room dissolved into a dizzying vortex of colors. Daria clutched the book tightly, shouting over the din, "Hold on tight, Milena! We're going on an adventure!"

They landed with a thump in a muddy field. Steam billowed from the ground nearby. A man with goggles and a wrench hurried past, shouting, "Another pipe burst! The pressure's too high!" Daria stared in amazement, "Where are we?" Milena consulted the Encyclopedia. "Larderello, Italy, 1904! They're trying to harness geothermal energy!"

The man stopped, wiping his brow. "Name's Prince Ginori Conti," he said, frustration etched on his face. "We're trying to power this whole town with steam from the Earth, but it's proving... difficult." Daria's eyes widened. "Geothermal energy! It's amazing that you're pioneering this!"

"Amazing, maybe," Conti sighed. "Expensive, definitely. You know, they say 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions,' and sometimes I feel like that is true, but it will be worth it to provide clean energy!" He gestured to a clanking, hissing machine. "Our first generator blew up just last week! The steam is so corrosive it eats right through the metal!"

Milena flipped through the Encyclopedia. "It says here that by 1911, you were powering the entire town and even the local railway!" Conti beamed. "Indeed! It wasn't easy, but we learned to use stronger alloys to withstand the steam. We generate 11 kilowatts and that was enough to power 5 houses! It's progress."

Daria scribbled furiously in her notebook. "If we could find a way to insulate our snow globe kingdom and tap into the Earth's heat beneath us..." Milena pointed to a passage in the book. "It says here that modern geothermal plants can generate hundreds of megawatts of power – enough for entire cities!" Conti smiled and patted his pockets, looking for his pipe.

Suddenly, the familiar swirl of light reappeared. "Time to go!" Milena shouted. Daria grabbed a piece of corroded pipe as a souvenir. "Thank you, Prince Conti!" she called as the world dissolved around them.

Back in her room, Daria excitedly showed Moana the piece of pipe. "We can use geothermal energy to warm our kingdom! Imagine – no more shivering!" Milena smiled. "As Leonardo da Vinci said, 'Water is the driving force of all Nature'. And geothermal is water powered! We just need to be clever, like Prince Conti, and persistent."
