Rin raced to her room, her heart pounding with curiosity. Her fingers danced across the spines of her books until she found it: The Magical Invention Encyclopedia. With a deep breath, she opened the ancient, glowing book. A wave of warm light erupted, swirling around her. Closing her eyes she said to herself,

When Rin opened her eyes, she found herself in a bustling ancient Mesopotamian city. People were washing clothes in the Euphrates River, but the process looked difficult and ineffective. Suddenly, Rin remembered something. She rummaged in her tunic and pulled out a small vial of moon-spun silk dye she had found by the docks. \"Wait!\" she exclaimed. \"I read that some dyes can also react with fats! What if you added this to the soap?\" Anaya's eyes widened. \"Worth a try!\" he said, taking the vial. He carefully mixed a few drops into a fresh batch of soap. The mixture turned a beautiful lavender color and smelled faintly of jasmine.

The next day, people lined up to buy Anaya's new lavender-scented soap. The demand was overwhelming! Anaya grinned at Rin. "Thank you, little one. You've made this even better. Now, even people in the far-off city of Uruk, whose entire economy revolves around cleanliness, will clamor to buy my soaps! " Just then, a familiar warm light began to envelop Rin. It was time to go home.

Back in her room, Rin closed the Encyclopedia. She ran to Yasmin, a bar of her regular scented soap clutched in her hand. "Yasmin, did you know that soap is thousands of years old? And that it all started with wood ash and animal fats?" Yasmin chuckled, ruffling Rin's hair. "Well, now I do! Next time, we can try to make our own scented moon-spun soap to sell down by the docks!"
