Ivan tugged on Adam's sleeve as they walked through the bustling marketplace. "Adam, look!" he exclaimed, pointing to a farmer struggling to pull a heavy plow through the thick mud. "It looks so hard to pull that!" Adam chuckled, adjusting the woven basket on her shoulder. "Indeed, Ivan. Farming is difficult work, especially with just animals to help."

"I wonder how people farmed before they had to pull everything themselves?" Ivan asked, tilting his head in curiosity. Adam smiled, "That's a good question, my inquisitive friend. Let's find the Invention Encyclopedia when we get back. Maybe it has some answers!" Ivan's eyes lit up. He loved exploring the glowing, magical book in his room.

Back in his room, Ivan raced to his bookshelf and grabbed the ancient, glowing book. As he opened the heavy cover, light swirled around him. "Here we go!" he shouted as the room began to dissolve around him. He clutched his worn leather notebook tightly, ready for adventure.

Ivan landed with a thump in a muddy field, the air thick with the smell of freshly turned earth. "Whoa! Where am I now?" he wondered aloud. A man in simple clothes approached, wiping sweat from his brow. "Welcome to Iowa, young fella. It's 1904. I'm Charles Hart, and this is my... well, hopefully our future."

Ivan stared at the contraption. "Is that... a tractor? It looks so different from the ones I've seen," he said, pulling out his notebook. Charles smiled. "It is, in a way. But it's more than just a machine, Ivan. It's about easing back-breaking labor! Right now, American farmers work some of the longest hours to feed our families and communities."

"We hope it will help with all that labor!" Charles explained, gesturing towards the fields. "Back in 1903, Charles City, Iowa only had one functioning company, but then we had our first successful tractor. However it needed 8,000 dollars in repairs. Now in 1910, it is estimated there will be around 600 tractors and 50 people employed!" Ivan scribbled furiously in his notebook.

"It hasn't been easy," Charles continued, running a hand through his hair. "We faced so many challenges. One time the engine blew, another time the entire frame broke! But we kept learning and improving. It was hard work, but we made it. As Thomas Edison said, 'Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.' I know we can!"

Suddenly, a farmer rushed over, his face etched with worry. "Mr. Hart, the river's flooded! We can't get the crops to market!" Charles's eyes lit up. "This is it! Time to test her out!" He hopped onto the tractor, and with a roar, the machine lumbered into action, pulling a wagon loaded with crops through the flooded field.

Back in his room, Ivan closed the Encyclopedia with a smile. He raced to find Adam, bursting with excitement. "Adam! I saw the first tractors! They helped farmers save their crops and changed farming forever! Today, the agricultural tractor industry has an annual revenue of 75 billion U.S. dollars!"

"That's amazing, Ivan!" Adam chuckled, pulling him into a hug. "Think of all the people who have food on their tables because of that invention." Ivan grinned. "I can't wait to see what invention we discover next!"
