It's back to needle and thread for you again tonight." Ivana sighed. "I wish there was a faster way to close clothes! Who even invented these fiddly buttons anyway?"

Are you alright?" he exclaimed. Omar, a man in his late 40s male, short and energetic, with warm caramel skin and close-cropped salt-and-pepper hair wore a long coat. "Where am I?" Ivana asked, brushing dust from her deep blue woolen tunic.

She flipped open her notebook, ready to take notes. "As Leonardo da Vinci said, 'He who thinks little errs much,' so I must think big to create something amazing!"

"I am working on a 'Clasp Locker' – a new kind of fastener for shoes," Omar declared proudly. He held up a strange contraption of hooks and eyes attached to a piece of fabric. "Buttons and laces are so slow and cumbersome! I want something faster and easier." Ivana squinted at the device. "It looks complicated. Has it been successful?" she asked. "I filed a patent for it in 1891, but I am still working on the improvements!" Omar responded.

"I teamed up with Whitcomb Judson who started the Universal Fastener Company to manufacture these devices. You see this complicated design? It was too expensive and unreliable. Sales were terrible!" Omar sighed heavily. "Today, the clothing and textiles industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, but without a good closure device, its potential is limited!" Ivana scribbled furiously in her notebook, "So, what went wrong?"

"I needed something simpler, cheaper, and more reliable!" Omar exclaimed, pacing back and forth. Suddenly, Anders, an elderly man in his late 60s male, tall and lean, with deep brown skin and thick straight black hair with a gentle wave at the ends, rushed into the workshop. "Omar! I have it! A continuous interlocking fastener!" he shouted, waving a small metal device. Ivana, her eyes widened, gasped. "That's the zipper!"

Anders explained how he had improved the design, using interlocking teeth that slid together smoothly. "Gideon Sundback perfected it in 1913, calling it the 'Hookless Fastener,' and later, the 'Zipper'! Today, the global zipper market is worth over 13 billion!" Ivana beamed, closing her notebook. The workshop began to fade. "Thank you for showing me! This has been amazing, Omar and Anders!"
