The Carnival of Falling Stars, a place of fleeting wonders and deeper longings, held both the promise of escape and the threat of disappointment for them. Jack, destined for a life of ordinary toil, secretly yearned for more, an unnameable adventure shimmering just beyond his reach.

"I offer magic beans for the beast!" He held out a handful of shimmering beans. "These ain't ordinary beans, boy, they will grant your wildest dreams!"

Ignoring her protests, swayed by the promise of a swift solution, Jack traded Bess for the beans. "Remember this moment, Mother!" he exclaimed.
